Nunatak Sailing Company

1. General Information

Nunatak Sailing Company organizes sailing expeditions and private charters in Northern Norway

and the broader Arctic region — including the Lofoten Islands, Lyngen Alps, Skjervøy, Svalbard,

Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.

By booking a trip with us, you agree to comply with the terms and conditions outlined below.

These terms are designed to ensure a clear and fair relationship between all parties involved.

2. Booking & Payment

To secure your reservation, a non-refundable deposit equal to 30% of the total trip cost is

required at the time of booking.

The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days before the scheduled

departure. Failure to complete the payment within this timeframe may result in the cancellation

of your booking and forfeiture of the deposit.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

By the guest:

More than 90 days before departure: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit.

Between 60 and 89 days before departure: 50% refund of the total trip cost.

Less than 60 days before departure: Unfortunately, no refunds can be issued at this stage.

By Nunatak Sailing Company:

In the unlikely event that we must cancel a trip due to weather conditions, safety concerns,

technical issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or the

option to reschedule your trip, subject to availability.

Please note: We are not responsible for any additional expenses you may incur, such as flights,

accommodations, or other travel-related costs.

4. Insurance & Liability

All participants are required to have valid personal travel insurance that covers:

Medical treatment

Emergency evacuation

Trip cancellation

Adventure activities including sailing, hiking, skiing, and campingNunatak Sailing Company is not liable for injuries, lost or damaged personal belongings, or any

financial loss incurred during the trip. Participation is at your own risk.

5. Guest Responsibility

Our expeditions take place in remote and challenging environments. It is your responsibility to

ensure that you are in suitable physical condition and fully prepared for the nature of the trip.

Guests are expected to follow all safety instructions and cooperate with the captain and crew.

Any behavior that jeopardizes the safety or well-being of others may result in removal from the

expedition without refund.

6. Itinerary Changes & Weather Conditions

While we carefully plan each itinerary, the Arctic environment is unpredictable. Weather, sea

state, and ice conditions may require changes to the planned route or schedule.

Final decisions are made by the captain and guides, always with your safety as the top priority.

We kindly ask for your flexibility and understanding in such situations.

7. Health, Allergies & Dietary Requirements

Please inform us well in advance of any relevant medical conditions, allergies, or dietary

restrictions.

We will make every effort to accommodate your needs; however, in remote areas with limited

access to supplies, we cannot guarantee all requests can be fulfilled.

8. Photography & Media

We often take photos and videos during our trips for use on our website, social media, and

promotional material. By joining an expedition, you grant us permission to use such media.

If you prefer not to appear in any published material, please notify us in writing before the

trip.

9. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes or legal matters

arising from participation in our trips will be handled by the courts of Norway.
